Recently, a new edition of the State Standard of Ukraine “Road Safety. Road signs. General specifications. Application Rules". And with it - the requirement to ban advertising on road signs.
From now on, it is forbidden to place images or inscriptions containing advertising on information and indication signs of individual design or billboards. That is, the signs on which logos, trademarks, and company names are applied must be dismantled or replaced by the end of 2017.
In the previous edition, this state standard did not contain such a requirement, - says Anatoly Myagkokhleb, deputy head of the Road Service in the Poltava region. But before the introduction of these changes, active efforts were made, in particular, by representatives of the Road Safety Administration. Ukravtodor listened to the advice and included a requirement to ban advertising of the new version of the DSTU.
Now, the official says, specialists of the Poltava Region Road Service are collecting information about the location of signs prohibited for use, in parallel coordinating further actions with the Road Safety Administration. All actions of the specialists of the Service, notes Anatoly Myagkokhleb, aimed at ensuring that these works do not bring discomfort to car owners:
We cannot simply dismantle the sign and deprive drivers of the right to information. Therefore, we will first make signs without advertising, and then we will replace signs that are prohibited.
SAD specialists have already begun work in this direction. It is planned to replace about 60 signs on public roads. In general, in Ukraine - 100 times more.
Only signs indicating settlements, their central parts and districts, streets, squares, transport infrastructure facilities (airports, railway stations, bus stations, ports, parking lots), tourist and sports facilities, historical and cultural monuments, and others will remain on the roads. Attraction. This was reported by the press service of the Road Service in the Poltava region.
