One of the most famous ad-free tools is going to turn into an ad network itself. Adblock Plus is going to sell its own adverts. Eeyo, the company that owns the rights to Adblock Plus, has entered into a partnership with an unnamed ad network.

It will supply adverts that will be streamed as part of Adblock Plus' in-built 'Acceptable Ads' platform. Experts say that such adverts will also be sold by Google.
The Acceptable Ads platform allows Adblock Plus to display certain ads while blocking others. Advertisers can get into this platform by paying the ad blocker and if their ads pass criteria for size, placement and the like. Journalists at The Verge estimate that 80% of the revenue from such ads will go to publishers. Other online agencies will take the rest, which includes 6% for Adblock Plus.
The Acceptable Ads platform emerged in 2011 and quickly sparked controversy. After all, big players such as Google, Amazon, Taboola continued to show adverts for money. Many publishers felt that this kind of Adblock Plus model interfered with their business.
