Rehabilitation after Covid-19. Part 2
Loss of smell and taste

Loss of smell and taste is one of the typical symptoms of Covid-19 infection and one of the long-term consequences. Some patients take weeks or months before they can smell and taste again. But why is this the case, even though the nose is not usually stuffy with Covid-19?
The coronavirus enters the body through the so-called ACE2 receptors, which are present in the olfactory mucosa and mouth area, and attacks the cells. The damaged cells are the reason why those affected can no longer smell and taste pleasant odours and flavours.
The pulmonology room has all the necessary equipment for Covid-19 rehabilitation. You can also receive emergency treatment for breathing difficulties, bronchial asthma, COPD and low-saturation conditions.
